Mad Men Fashion

My last post was about the Mad Men inspired clothing line at Banana Republic. I am completely infatuated with the show Mad Men and watch it in marathons. It begins in 1959 and progresses into the early 60's where American culture was drastically changing socially and politically. The nuclear family and the baby boom generation and this general facade of perfection was beginning to slip. My parents were born around the time where Mad Men takes place so I am intrigued with how the way the were raised and what was going on in the country is so entirely different from today.  I have always been in love with early 60's style from the structured bags, the silhouettes, broaches hats, gloves to the big hair. The show captures the look more authentically than any other movie or show I have seen. I thought I had to do a tribute to the style of the show. Below are some of my favorite looks.
