This months issue of Italian Vogue features a cover spread of plus size models.
For years the fashion industry has said that plus size will never equal high fashion but I feel that this spread proves that idea to be outdated. Her some photos from the spread.
This to me does not look gross or like a side show...a little edgy? Sure, but its European.
This a a huge step in the right direction and I hope that this concept will travel over seas to the United States. There is always the issue at hand, of not wanting to encourage obesity in America where it is such a problem. But at the same time, making overweight people feel alienated and outcast is not a solution that has worked. Bullying is a hot button issue right now and with everyone jumping on board with anti-bullying, you would think the fashion industry which is such a huge catalyst for setting unattainable standards could take even the smallest step towards body acceptance.
Seventeen magazine is the only magazine I know of that regularly has plus size models and encourages body acceptance on a regular basis. Every year American Vogue comes out with ONE issue based on body shapes.
If you haven't heard, recently the body shop put out this ad
Matell protested this ad because of it's anti Barbie statement. Its been sweeping social networks sites asking this image to be reposted if you agree with the message it is trying to convey. Do you agree with its message?

Style Icon Stevie Nicks
“I’ll be very, very sexy under 18 pounds of chiffon and lace and velvet,” Ms. Nicks promised herself as a teenager. “And nobody will know who I really am.”
Today is the husky voiced singers birthday and I wanted to honor her amazing sense of style. I have always had a strong regard for Stevie Nicks since I was a child. My parents listened to Fleetwood Mac religiously on long car rides. I could easily sing all their songs word for word.
I also have a fondness for her because she reminds me so much of my sister Brianna. My mom wanted to name her Rhianna after she heard the song Rhiannon...my father wouldn't let that fly. But she also reminds me of Nicks looks wise. She could have been Stevie's lost love child.
see what I mean?

I've always loved Stevie's long blond hair, big doe eyes and cupid lips making her still look like an innocent child at 63 years old. I also have loved her ethereal, gypsy, pagan, hippie style. Below are some of my favorite looks of hers.

Nunettes...Eye Candy
Nunettes are not so much functional as they are fun. Celebs such as 50 Cent, Lady Gaga, and P.Diddy have rocked these lenses. They are made in Montreal and run for roughly $40. Here are some of the kooky designs!
Fashion Inspiration :"Edith Bouvier Beale, "Little Edie "
Grey Gardens is a documentary released in 1975, the cousin's of Jackie Kennedy had been living in Grey Gardens, a dilapidated estate in East Hampton NY. The mother and daughter were isolated and practically shut in's for almost 25 years. They also were eccentrics to say the least but in a very endearing way.
Grey Gardens has always been a favorite movie fo mine and I wanted to make a tribute to Little Edie's style. Edith Beale suffered from alopecia and always wore a scarf to cover her head which became her signature look. Below are some looks that were directly inspired by Edie.

All that glitters...Judith Leiber clutches
I LOVE this bag! It was a special addition made by Judith Leiber and it would have only put you out oh....$4,295
Fell in love with it when Charlotte's daughter is seen with one in the Sex and teh City movie (lets face it, the big reason we watch the show is for the fashion)
I became a big fan of Judith Leiber bags through SATC.
Carries gift from Big.
She hated it, but I am a huge fan.
Here are some more favorites of mine from Judith Leiber
